War horse is a movie about friendship, bravery and obviously war. It is a story about a horse's expeience in war showing us different perspecive of the war and also friendship. It is based on a novel written by Michael Mopurgo. The movie is directed by Steven Spielberg who won an Oscar award for best director for his other movie "Saving Private Ryan". The cast of the film includes Jeremy Irvine who plays a young, good looking and caring farm boy named Albert Naracott who shaares a strong bond and relationship wih his horse Joey. Peter Mullan, plays Ted Naracott a veterna that drinks to forget mistakes/events and is diliked by because of his drunken behaviour.
The plot of this movie is very emotionally moving becasue of the bond and relationshipbetween the two best friends. The story starts in an English town called Devon. A half-thoroughbred horse is sold at an auction to a farmer
named Ted Narracott (Peter Mullan) for 30 Guineas. When Ted gets home with the horse his wife Rosie
(Emily Watson) is
enraged with Ted. But then the couple’s only child Albert promises
that he would take good care of the horse and trains it to plough. Albert then
trains the horse and name him Joey, a loyal and courageous horse. A strong
bond was built between them in the short period. But then World War I break out
and the army come to town. Ted who is desperate for money to pay the landlord, sold Joey to a cavalry officer named Capt. Nicholls (Tom Hiddleston). The separation
of Albert and Joey is only the beginning. As the war goes on Joey experiences many different things from different owners. Showing different perspective of
the war. Albert who is now old enough enlisted, to the army and is
determined to find his precious and beloved horse.
