Holes is book written by the famous teen novel writer Louis Sachar. Its story that runs around a boy named Stanley Yelnats. Stanley's family was said to be cursed. Stanley didn't really believe the curse but since his grandfather and father believe in the curse so much, he too believe the curse. There are many things that is good about this book like storylines, plot twist and characters.
It is a very interesting book with lots of story line, though there are many story line all of them links one to another which makes this book very enjoyable. At first sight this book might be confusing, since the author jumps from one story line to another story line.
Another thing that makes this book interesting is its plot twist, since there are so many story lines plot twist would not be unusual in the story. We would assume that this character would do this but suddenly he goes somewhere we would not think.

War Horse Film Review
War horse is a movie about friendship, bravery and obviously war. It is a story about a horse's expeience in war showing us different perspecive of the war and also friendship. It is based on a novel written by Michael Mopurgo. The movie is directed by Steven Spielberg who won an Oscar award for best director for his other movie "Saving Private Ryan". The cast of the film includes Jeremy Irvine who plays a young, good looking and caring farm boy named Albert Naracott who shaares a strong bond and relationship wih his horse Joey. Peter Mullan, plays Ted Naracott a veterna that drinks to forget mistakes/events and is diliked by because of his drunken behaviour.
The plot of this movie is very emotionally moving becasue of the bond and relationshipbetween the two best friends. The story starts in an English town called Devon. A half-thoroughbred horse is sold at an auction to a farmer named Ted Narracott (Peter Mullan) for 30 Guineas. When Ted gets home with the horse his wife Rosie (Emily Watson) is enraged with Ted. But then the couple’s only child Albert promises that he would take good care of the horse and trains it to plough. Albert then trains the horse and name him Joey, a loyal and courageous horse. A strong bond was built between them in the short period. But then World War I break out and the army come to town. Ted who is desperate for money to pay the landlord, sold Joey to a cavalry officer named Capt. Nicholls (Tom Hiddleston). The separation of Albert and Joey is only the beginning. As the war goes on Joey experiences many different things from different owners. Showing different perspective of the war. Albert who is now old enough enlisted, to the army and is determined to find his precious and beloved horse.

The
actors, like Jeremy Irvine have done a very good job and make the movie even
more emotionally touching. Not only the good acting the costumes were a job
well done, with Joanna Johnson an academy award winner, as the main costume
designer. Their clothes and uniforms are very detailed with different colors,
fabrics and styles for each costume. This makes the movie more realistic. The
music and sound effect is very strong with friendship, war, bravery and
loyalty as its main genre.
War
Horse is an excellent movie, I strongly recommend watching this movie. War
Horse is very suitable for a family movie and will reveal the true meaning of
friendship. This movie also has lots of actions but is still emotionally
moving. With tear-jerking scenes and its friendship plot, it is a must to
watch.

The film War horse is a film that has a story
that runs on World War One. The story
started in an English town called Devon. A half-thoroughbred horse was sold on
an auction to a farmer named Ted Narracott for 30 guineas. Not only should he
have used the money to pay his landlord, llyons, for the farm rent but Ted
should have also bought a plough horse but instead he bought a
half-thoroughbred. When Ted got home with the horse his wife, Rosie, was enraged
with Ted. She was mad because Ted did not bought a plough horse instead a
thoroughbred and for 30 guineas. Rosie then force Ted to give it back to the
auction, but then Albert (Albie for short) the couple’s son said that he would
take good care of the horse and train him so that it is able to plough the
fields. In an instance Albert have made a very strong bond with the horse and
named it Joey. Albert and Joey trained, and as time goes their relationship and
bond got stronger.
Joey was
forced to plough the hard soil, he was not able to plough but a miracle happened,
it rained. So Joey and Albert plough the whole field, it was used to plant
turnips. But a huge storm came and destroy all the crops, and they were not
able to pay the land lord.
On the same
day the War had started and the army went to the town. Ted took joey to town
without Albert’s acknowledgement. It was sold to a captain named Nicholls. Joey
made a friend during the army training his name was Tophorn. Joey was part of a
cavalry surprise attack, it had success at first but then the German’s counter them
using machine guns, only two survived but they were captured. Joey and Tophornn
was taken by the Germans and was taken care of by two German brothers named
Gunther and Michael. Gunther and Michael ran away from the army and hid in a
windmill but were found by the army and was shot and killed. The two horse was
later on found by a little girl named Emillie, she showed her Grand pere
(grandpa) the horses. But when Emillie was riding Joey, they were found by the
German army and the two horses was taken by them.
In the army
joey and Tophorn was taken care by Heigleman (a private). Joey was used to pull
heavy artillery, which will be used to shot British army on the other side. In
the British side Albert was there ready to charge and kill Germans. And they succeeded.
Back to joey, his friend Tophorn died and the Germans was pushed back by the
British, the private yelled at Joey to Run. Joey Ran and ran and eventually he
ran into the no man’s land and was entangled in barbed wire. The British and
the Germans saw Joey. Collins (British) and Peter (German) came to help Joey.
When they were finished helping Joey they had a coin toss to see who can take
Joey. Collins Won.
Collins
took the horse back to the British base and asked the doctor to heal the horse.
The doctor said that he had no time for Joey and that joey’s wound was
impossible to fix. But then Albert showed up and proved that the horse was his
precious horse, Joey. The Doctor eventually agreed to heal Joey.
When the
war ended Joey was sold at an auction. Albert was determined to buy Joey back.
But then Emilie’s grandfather came and bought Joey for 100 pound. Albert pleads
to the Grandfather to give Joey to him. But the grandfather said that Joey was
his only memory of Emilie. The grandfather realized that Joey was Albert’s when
Joey wants to go back to Albert and that Albert knows what the little flag is, the
regimental Pennant. And Albert gets to take joey back. The last scene of the
film shows Albert hugging his parents.

Reflection on argumentative and debates
Reflection on the topics Argumentative writings and Debate
I feel pretty good when doing the two topics. I loved both topics actually, the were fun. In argumentative writing we learnt the format when writing an argumentative essay and what should be inside each paragraph, how to disproof and how to cite. And most importantly how to create a good and complete argumentative essay. Though i still need to improve on my citing skill.
The second topic debates was also very fun. I get to speak, and i love to speak. In this topic i was helped by my skills in making argumentative essay. Because we need to argue when debating. Since it was group work my collaboration skills was also assessed during the making of our groups points and who does what. In the group i was the last person so i need to REBUTT my opponents (counter) and make a conclusion to my group. And the most important thing... The statement. I neeed to make a very good statement that the audience will remmeber.

Who Is Responsible?
Should Dhani the father of a 13-year-old boy who killed 7
people and injured many other be held responsible for his son’s action?
Indonesia is a country with a very
loose law. In Indonesia we can see under aged children driving a vehicle, 11
years old kid driving motor cycle. Not on a neighborhood but on roads, and ones
with lots of cars and packed while speeding. This action is very dangerous and
careless, with undeveloped mind and mental they are not stable emotionally. It
might seem cool and wicked to be driving or riding a motor vehicle to their
friends, but those things are not worth the consequence that can happen.
Many cases have been reported about
minors with no driving license, injuring or even killing people. 13 year-old Abdul
Qodir Jaelani , son of a very popular Indonesian singer and song composer had
made all those consequence come to life. With 7 dead and many other injured, he
now understands the consequence of driving underage is very serious. The
accident that happened at the Jagorawi highway was a turning point for Dul’s
life. For parents not noticing that their children drive is impossible, and so
I agree that Ahmad Dhani Prasetyo, father of Abdul Qodir Jaelani is held
responsible and is one to be blamed.
Dhani was solely responsible for
letting a minor drive a car that he purchased for his underaged children. This
reflects how irresponsible Dhani was towards his son. Although Dhani have
appointed a driver for Dul. But Dul had asked his driver to go on a holiday.
And it is impossible for a driver leave just like that without any approval
from his boss. This would mean that Dhani was aware that Dul’s driver was on holiday,
and because of that Dhani should have paid more attention to his underage son,
because at any time Dul can go out of house and leaves without any
notifications while driving on his own. This obviously already shows how
irresponsible Dahni is towards his son,not paying them much attention.
When the accident happen Dul should
have been attending a wedding, but instead he was hanging out with his friend.
The accident happened on his way home after driving his girlfriend home. Dul
turned off all his cell phones, and so Dhani could not contact him. But if
Dhani really cares about his sons he would have tried calling Dul’s friends or
the friend’s parents to get info on Dul’s location. Dhani could have done more
actions towards this issue. Dul is a minor, it means Dul is under custody/care
of his father. Again this shows how irresponsible Dhani is towards his child,
and needs to be more responsible.
Lots of people say that 13 years old
is when a child starts to grow up. Starting to be mature and know what is wrong
and right. He should have known that driving is not a right thing to do on his
age. Even though he starts to grow up and mature, he is still at the beginning
of being a complete matured adult and he is still mentally and emotionally unstable.
Therefore he is still not yet in the condition to be able to make right
decisions during crucial times. A study by the Stanford university shows that
the more aged someone gets the more mature their mental is, which means crucial
decision can be made better.
The accident started by Dul trying to
speed up and pass a car but when he was passing the car he was in high speed
and lost control of the car. Evidence shows that the tire marks done by Dul’s
car before the crash was swiggling. This shows that he had lost control of the
car and crashed into two cars and killed 7 people. For an under-aged to drive
it is not a small thing. AND for parents to buy cars for their under age
children is something very rare and almost impossible. But Dhani bought a car
for Dul. Not only Dul, Al his older brother also owns a car and Al is also
still under-aged. This shows that Dhani allows his son to drive, where actually
it is a very unwise decision. Now it is more like Dhani is the one not matured.
In conclusion Dhani father of Abdul
Qodir Jaelani is the one held responsible. Since he is parents of still
under-aged children, so he is held responsible for any of their actions. If any
of them have done something wrong, it means Dhani has failed to be a
responsible parent or dad.

Report on Slip or Trip

When we arrived at the crime scene at 1:45 a.m., on the 2nd of september 2001.
We found Arthur lying on his back facing up on the bottom of the stairs with his legs on the stairs. He was holding a glass that was totally still perfect no cracks or scratch on the glass. With a wound on his head. There was also a stove on with some food being cooked. The carpet on the stairs was tidy,not messed up.-
Queenie said that arthur was going downstairs to get another drink. But on his way down, he slipped and fell. The autopsy said that arthur died from a wound on the head and confirmed that he’d been drunk.Queenie said it was accident because Arthur was drunk few minutes before it happened.
If Queenie is really saying the truth, then the glass that Arthur’s holding onto,
does not break into pieces. Because usually when a person falls down holding a fragile object, the object will break. Another evidence is the glass that Arthur’s holding is in his hands, when we fall, we usually would let go anything that we’re holding onto. Especially if it is a fragile object, because if the object falls down with us, we would of course consider throwing the object away, so it will not hurt us way more. Why is the object on the walls are not misplaced. Because usually when a person falls down, they will grab hold of something nearby or something that is reachable.
In the picture of the crime scene, the stove in the kitchen was on. Considering the time is at midnight, it is very rare for people to cook after midnight. Usually people cook at meal times. Another evidence is that the carpet on the stairs are not messed up. When a person falls down a carpet covered stairs, the carpet usually will get messed up. Another piece of evidence, there are no paramedics at the crime scene. As a rule, when a person finds someone who needs help usually they will call for help. Arthur was also found lying his back facing up. As a rule, when a person falls down when coming down the stairs they usually fall and land face first.
In conclusion we suspect that queenie is a crime suspect. but, we still need to investigate further so that we will interview more eyewitness (queenie’s friend) so that we can conclude whether or not queenie is lying. We are speculating that queenie had killed arthur because either she was drunk or in rage (because of the fight she had with his husband, arthur) maybe even both. Queenie might have used the frying pan to hit her husband on the back of his head,and after that she covers the pan up bye using it for cooking. And we recommend people to arrest Queenie on of charge man slaughter, but still on suspicion.
